a time when someone offended you with their words.

 When my mom calls me lazy it offends me dearly. Why the word "lazy" offends me is because after I do the tasks I'm asked to do and finally decide to relax and take a break it makes me feel like I did nothing at all and that I'm not appreciated for the things I do.
